Boat Stripping

We will strip your boat at your site!

Layers of paint will weigh your boat down below the water line, slowing it down, decreasing gas mileage and speed and limiting its maneuverability. Water trapped between paint layers creates a rough surface and causes bubbling in the gel coat.

Our Procedure
We begin by protecting your boat with 3M plastic at the water line and above. A specially formulated chemical is sprayed on the bottom of your boat which removes the paint. Using sharp carbide blades we manually scrape the paint which is later removed from the site.

A Professional Look
After stripping your boat, allow us to paint it and create a factory-like finish. We sand and clean any stripping residue, fill any holes with epoxy and sand the bottom smooth. Then there is a two-part application including a primer or epoxy barrier coat. We always spray our bottom paint to avoid irregular and uneven marks. A two-part finish coat is applied followed by any stripping and detailing to finish the job.

We always strip your boat with a wet system which avoids releasing biocides into the environment.
